Owner Comments:
My name is
Joe Warner and I'm from Springfield Missouri, and this is my 1986 Scottsdale K10
that I bought back in April of 2004. It had a lot more hidden rust than I
had originally thought when I first purchased it. All I thought it needed
was rocker panels and cab corners as well as a left bedside. By the time I
go done, I had replaced not only the cab corners and rockers, but both fenders,
inner fenders, the inner rocker on the left side, the left kick panel, half of
the left floor the left inner cab corner, and the left bedside. I bought a
Goodmark cowl induction hood even though there wasn't anything wrong with my
stock hood except for the clear coat paint peeling off. Now that the rust
has been dealt with and the body "roughed in", I still have a few minor dings to
deal with before its going to be ready for paint. The engine and
drivetrain are all stock and only have 82,800 miles on them. It has a 305,
4-speed manual trans, and a 208 aluminum transfer case. The build sheet in
the glove box states that it is a Scottsdale trim package with cloth deluxe
interior, however, it has the color coded rubber floor mat and the standard two
headlight grille. I've been told by a previous owner that this truck was
special ordered the way it is with the 305 and 4-speed combination, along with
the deluxe cloth interior and standard grille. I have added a 4 inch suspension
lift with a set of American Racing 15x10 wheels and 33x12.5-15 Super Swamper
TRUXUS radials. I have also added dual shocks on the front and plan to add
dual shocks to the rear as soon as I make the brackets for them. I still
haven't decided whether or not I'm going to do anything different with the
engine. I'm considering putting in a late model fuel injected 350 Vortec
like my neighbor did. I might even build a 350 into a 383, to drop in, I
don't know just yet. Thanks for looking.
